Polio virus has been discovered today in the drinking water of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The residents and social groups of the city expressed great reservation and anxiety over the revelation of the virus and demanded the government to take precautionary measures to control the spread of the virus. The residents lamented that the government failed to take any measures.
According to sources, Rawalpindi received most of the drainage water from Islamabad and that is where the virus came from. According to the health ministry, environmental samples have begun taking from the drainage system of the capital so as to assess the level of pollution in the federal city.
