Storm Alert

Storm Argentina on the Alert for Storms

The authorities of this capital and seven other provinces placed them today on alert, due to heavy rains and storms that have already began to strongly batter the region of Neuquen, in the Patagonia, where there are more than 1,300 people have been evacuated.

Al television channels agreed on highlighting the reports by the National Weather Service (SMN), which maintains the alert for severe storms, with gusts and strong electric activity, while issuing reports for the rest of the country.

In Buenos Aires, the capital, traffic in some areas of the city is chaotic, due to the traffic jam caused by local floods and partial closing of lanes on some highways that link it to surrounding localities.

In the southern province of Neuquen, the situation is more serious, where more than 1,300 people have been evacuated and flooded areas.

The SMN predicted that besides the storm, there would be occasional hails and strong gusts in several regions of the country, especially in the metropolitan area.

The alert is valid to Capital Federal, the city of La Plata, north and central Buenos Aires, Cordoba, south of Corrientes, Entre Rios, San Luis and Santa Fe.
