
Strong to severe storms are expected throughout the afternoon in Tennessee.
Most of the region is under a tornado watch. A 40 percent chance of spotty daytime storms become more wide-spread tonight with an 80 percent chance. There is a slight risk of severe storms this evening with damaging wind and localized flooding. A Flood Watch goes into effect for Knoxville and south after 8 p.m.
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has declared a state of the emergency ahead of the storms.
The 6 Storm Team has already received some storm damage reports. A roof blew off a plumbing business onto a car in Jellico. Trees and power lines down have also been reported in Whitley County, Ky. near the Tennessee line.
Damage was also reported in Morgan County whereroofs were reported to have blown off houses reported as well as barns damaged or destroyed. Porches were blown off one or two houses, according to emergency officials, and trees and power lines were reported down.
