A destructive hailstorm damaged nearly 70 percent of crops in Lori Region of Armenia on Sunday.
The egg-sized hail fell two times on Sunday damaging potatoes, fruit trees and wheat, the locals said.
The hail was so powerful that anti-hail stations did not manage to prevent the storm, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from the region.
Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan visited the region later on Sunday to study the consequences. The Minister noted that he will personally study the size of damage to each farm and will inform the prime minister to decide on further moves.
The local residents say around 70 percent of crops was destroyed.
