A violent hail storm at Forster over the weekend has damaged a local shopping centre.
At around 3:00pm (AEST) on Saturday, June 21, 2014 heavy hail blocked gutters on the roof of the Stockland shopping centre, and water poured into it.
The Centre said due to the extreme weather event many shops will not be trading today, Monday June 23, 2014 as damage has to be assessed and repairs done.
The nearby Lakes Way was also blanketed in hail.
The Great Lakes State Emergency Service said it had more than 30 calls for assistance, mainly for blocked gutters and damaged roofs and skylights.
