Deadly Ebola Virus Scare: Plane Held at JFK Airport, USA

Ebola Virus

A commercial airliner was briefly held at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on Tuesday after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was alerted to a sick passenger on board, in light of concerns over the spread of the deadly Ebola virus, authorities said.

CDC personnel quickly determined the passenger had experienced a seizure and no other measures were warranted, a CDC spokeswoman said.

The affected aircraft, Etihad Airlines Flight EY101, took off from Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday morning and arrived late in the New-York afternoon.

The U.A.E. isn’t near the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
