126 Birds found dead on beaches in Lambayeque, Peru

Dead animals still appear in the Lambayeque coast. This time, more than 100 birds were found dead on the beach at Puerto Eten ( Chiclayo ), a few meters from the pier of the town.

During a tour conducted by bight said yesterday Perú21 and representatives of the Instituto del Mar del Peru ( Imarpe ), 126 pikemen (a bird about 74 cm. anchovy fishing on our coast) and two dead pelicans was found. Even, it was observed that several birds were dying in the sand. Monsefú near bodies of a whale and two sea lions that had signs of blows is also located.

In this regard, the regional head of Imarpe-Lambayeque, Jaime de la Cruz said that marine mammals and birds died of starvation because they migrated from Lobos Island to Puerto Eten Earth in search of food.

“However, to not get the shoal they need to survive, they weakened and were unable to return to their habitat,” said the expert.

The owner of Imarpe-Lambayeque said samples of dead birds will be taken to send to the capital. De la Cruz also revealed that the mortality of animals has been going on for ten days.
