Severe Weather Alert

A thunderstorm Sunday evening damaged property in parts of Morrison and Benton counties.

A tornado was reported in Granite Ledge Township. Funnel clouds were spotted in Gilman and Rice. Hail was reported in Hillman.

In Morrison County, damage was reported near Morrill in the southeastern corner of the county about 1 mile from the county line.

Three properties reported damage, said Scott MacKissock, the Morrison County emergency management director.

“We don’t know if it was actually a tornado or straight-line winds,” MacKissock said.

A funnel cloud was reported near Morrill, the National Weather Service said.

Uprooted trees, damage to roofs and siding, and an overturned camper were reported, McKissock said.

The National Weather Service has a team in Benton County examining damage from a tornado in Granite Ledge Township, said Tony Zaleski of the National Weather Service.

Some trees were blown down and windows were blown out. A roof from a barn was blown off.
