Train services have stalled in the Agartala-Lumding route after heavy downpour triggered massive landslides on a tunnel at Baramura yesterday that stuck up thousands of passengers in the most difficult hill-lock. The Lumding bound down train was encountered by massive landslides at the tunnel. It blocked the railway line and prevented the movement of trains. A relief team was deployed by the local authorities of the Northeast Frontier Railway from Ambassa. Reportedly, the other side of the tunnel was not blocked by the landslides. NFR sources said the debris clearing effort has been hampering due to the rains. In fact, the rail track went on mud and sand has almost filled the tunnel.
