Authorities say two people aboard a small plane were injured when it crashed trying to land in Blount County.
WBIR-TV reports the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, the Aeronca aircraft hit some trees while attempting to land on a privately-owned landing strip.
Officials say both of the people on the plane were taken to local hospitals for their injuries. Their names and the extent of the injuries have not been released.
The FAA is investigating the crash.
