Emergency crews responded to an aircraft down in a field about two miles east of the Santa Maria airport.
The small plane, with three people and a dog inside, made an emergency landing just after 11:30 a.m. Saturday in a strawberry field, in the area of Clark Avenue and Telephone Road.
The pilot suffered minor injuries and complained of cuts and bruises. No other injuries were reported according to Capt. Dave Zaniboni with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department
Capt. Zaniboni said the plane suffered from mechanical failure.
The incident is under investigation.
