Severe lightning kills 3 in the Kishoregank district, Bangladesh

Three people, including two siblings, were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Katiadi and Itna upazilas of Kishoregank district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Manjil, 25, and his brother Ratan, 27, residents of Sakua village in Karimganj upazila, and Amin, 22, a  resident of Katiadi upazila. Officer-in-charge of Itna Police Station Abdul Malek said a thunderbolt hit Manjil and Ratan while they were working in a paddy field during a storm at Shimulbagh haor in Itna upazila at about 9:30am, killing them on the spot. Meanwhile, Amin was killed as a thunderbolt struck him in a haor (wetland) while he was working in a paddy field during a storm in Katiadi upazila at about 10:00 am. Officer-in-charge of Nikli Police  Station Mahbubul Alam confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
