Melbourne’s eastern suburbs have borne the brunt of unseasonably heavy rain and hail.

With a top of just 14 degrees forecast for today, sections of the city have been hit with more than 30mm of rain since 9am today.
Flash hailstorms left streets in Camberwell and Doncaster blanketed in ice, with one reader enjoying the cold snap with a snowman.
