Large die off of fish in a lake ‘due to disease’ in Reeuwijk, Netherlands

Residents around the lake Ravens Reeuwijk should avoid contact with the water for the time being. That warning gives the municipality Bodegraven-Reeuwijk now appears that the investigation into the botulism takes longer than expected.
 
Even though there are no recent days large numbers of dead fish found in the lake water, still going Rijnland and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) by taking samples of the water. The expectation is that it is clear about two weeks, or the water is still contaminated.
 
Since late February warns the Water Board for botulism . Surrounding the lake are signs posted. Also, in the three connections dams positioned to the other in order to prevent possible spread urination.
Botulism
Botulism is a form of food poisoning that causes paralysis. Especially waterfowl and fish are going to die, and death can then infect other animals with botulism. There are also variants of botulism which are harmful to the health of human beings.
