An investigation is to be carried out after two trains were involved in a “low-speed” collision at Cambridge station.

Four passengers reported minor injuries following the crash at around 10am. They were treated at the station.

A spokesman for Great Northern said: “Shortly after 10am this morning one of our services was involved in a low-speed incident in platform 7 of Cambridge station.

“This was the 09.14 King’s Cross to Cambridge service, a four carriage class 365 train, which couples with another four-carriage unit in the platform to form a 10.30 return service to King’s Cross. The two units came into contact.
