As he criticizes, called the Director of the Committee of livestock of Huila, Luceni Muñoz, the effects by the intense dry season in the North of the Department, confirmed that more than 300 head of cattle have died.
“We are very affected, live a very difficult crisis because it is very difficult to ensure water and food for animals, and for this reason we are dying,” he said.
The greatest effects are registered in the municipalities of Villavieja, Tello and Baraya, Colombia Neiva where there is no food or water for the animals.
“The figures are worrying, this is added that body condition of animals is diminishing us more at risk that we die more animals in addition have had a drop in the production of milk of nearly 50 percent what we are on high alert”, stressed.
Also the production of milk has decreased by 50 per cent waking up a huge concern among ranchers who confirmed that if the strong summer continue could dramatically increase the mortality of animals.
