You might associate snow with late September in Denver instead of hail.
But for the second year in a row severe storms with large hail have hit metro Denver on September 29.
So far there have been no reports of significant damage with this year’s hail but some areas did see hailstones the size of quarters.
The thunderstorms developed over the foothills of Boulder County and Jefferson County after 3 p.m. and moved south along the western suburbs of Denver.
Areas north of Golden, around Lakewood and into northern Douglas County saw the heaviest rain and hail.
