Helicopter Crash

An official Taiwanese news agency says a civilian-use helicopter has crashed in the city of New Taipei, killing both people on board.

The Central News Agency said pilot Chen Hsiu-ming and electrical worker Yu Hui-hsien died when the chopper, identified as a Bell 206 jet ranger, crashed Sunday in the city’s Taishan district.

CNA said the crash did not cause a fire or other collateral damage, but provided no further details on the incident.

The chopper belonged to Emerald Pacific Airlines, which provides helicopter services for large-scale construction projects.
