After temperatures reaching high-30s to even reaching levels higher than 40°C in some areas, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) says that the temperature in the Western Cape can be classified as a heatwave.
This coming week sees predicted temperatures in the Western Cape reaching up to 37°C on Tuesday with Cape Town being on the receiving end with Monday also reaching a maximum of 36°C.
According to the SAWS cool temperatures can be expected by Tuesday evening with possible rainfall on Wednesday accompanied by cooler conditions.
Not only will parts of the Cape continue with extremely warm temperatures this coming week, but Gauteng, Limpopo, North West and the Free State will still see high temperatures, although rainfall is also expected in some of these areas.
