7 dead whales found along the coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico

Seven dead stranded whales were found in different parts of the lagoon eye of Hare, located in the municipality of Baja California Sur.
 
According to the Federal Attorney protection to the environment (Profepa), copies are six calves and one youth, who already had an advanced state of decomposition.
 
Gray whales were located in tours of surveillance performed by Profepa, to monitor the whale this season of ageing, in coordination with the National Commission of protected natural Areas (CONANP) and the Department of ecology of the company Exportadora de Sal, S.A. de C.V.
 
Profepa in Baja California and CONANP, specialists noted that copies death was by natural causes, and that it’s not extraordinary situation that occurs every year at the beginning of the breeding season, found within natural ranges of mortality.
 
This is because that in the area of the gray whale breeding, hatchlings are commonly lost or are abandoned by their mother, and not to receive power die, which consumed about 200 litres of milk a day.
 
In January of last year, the Profepa reported the discovery of 14 bodies of gray whale to the interior of the lagoon eye of Hare, whereas in 2014 were reported 12 dead specimens, by what the specialists determined that about events not extraordinary.
 
The 7 stranded specimens found Tuesday represent the 1.19% of the population of the species in the laguna Ojo de liebre, according to Profepa.
 
None of the whales found develops lacerations or injured by boats or fishing; only abrasions of the skin caused by friction with the surface during the stranding were observed.
 
Corpses remain in the same place of the finding, be found in uninhabited areas, where does not represent discomfort by odor producing, or risks to public health.
 
They are also part of the food chain, defined as the current of energy and nutrients between different species of an ecosystem in relation to their nutrition.
