Ash plume to 24,000 ft reported at Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka, Russia

Activity at the volcano seems to be increasing again. Constant glow and incandescent rockfalls at the active lava dome are visible on webcam imagery. 
 
Based on satellite data, an eruption (explosion or pyroclastic flow) was reported this morning to have produced an ash plume that rose to 24,000 ft (7.3 km) altitude and drifted west.
