1,000 TONS of sardines wash up in Araucania Chile

Thursday morning a mass stranding of sardines off the coast of the region of La Araucania was recorded.
 
Fishermen found a situation of total collapse of the pier. According to preliminary reports would be about a thousand tons of dead sardines along the route navigation by the entrance of the river, where they take to the high seas in the Queule cove.
 
In that place is full of dead sardines and as explained by the leaders, it would be a natural process. However, they said that this situation will have health consequences for the strong odors that emanate begin the process of clearance.
 
They also indicated that should review the fact that there is a lot of sardines and catch quotas are minimal fishermen -to the region compared to the availability of the resource there. In that regard, they claimed that this would lead to the natural death of these fish.
 
It should state that this fact was communicated to the Undersecretariat of Fisheries.
