Adopted in 2012, the law gives great benefits to the fishing industry, harming workers and fisherfolk.

The industry has “its best ally in Longueira Law that the Government refuses to cancel” Machuca, adding that “the industry received free fishery resources, so that the state now has no money for scientific research said, define serious action, “reports La Tercera.

Condepp spokesman appealed to President Michelle Bachelet, who asked to end the improvisations in the sector.

In another development, the Government has not responded to the demand for artisanal fishermen in the area of Los Lagos, demanding a presidential delegate to continue the talks and find a solution to the conflict that isolated the Chiloe archipelago continent.

As reported by the news portal Bio Bio, artisanal fishermen demand that the government increase “substantially” the amount promised to alleviate the situation of workers affected by the appearance of the toxin known as red tide, which killed thousands of tons fish.

Fishermen say the death of the fish is due to the dumping of waste from the salmon industry working in the area.
