A severe afternoon thunderstorm pelted numerous Calgary neighbourhoods with hail and flash flooding
Calgary’s warning, issued at 4:35 p.m., indicated a line of severe storms were capable of produce toonie sized hail and rainfall in excess of 50 mm. The line of storms stretched from a location roughly 20 kilometres west of Calgary to a spot 10 kilometres north of Crossfield.

As of 5:55 p.m., all severe thunderstorm warnings for Calgary and surrounding areas had ended.
Hail was reported in numerous communities throughout the city’s northwest and southwest and in the downtown core. Flash flooding was reported in several areas scattered throughout the city including Nolan Hill, Glendale and Thorncliffe.
