Ash plume from an explosion at Suwanose-jima volcano this evening (early morning in Japan, JMA webcam)
Activity has been more intermittent over the past days, but occasional (presumably strombolian) explosions continue to occur, producing small ash plumes that rise up to approx. 2 km altitude and quickly disperse.
