Intermittent Explosions At Suwanosejima Volcano In Tokara Islands, Japan

Activity has been more intermittent over the past days, but occasional (presumably strombolian) explosions continue to occur, producing small ash plumes that rise up to approx. 2 km altitude and quickly disperse.
