Some 22 sea lions were found dead at the Carpayo Beach, in el Callao. Chucuito fishermen alerted the national police about the appearance of the bodies on the shore of the sea.
One of the fishermen told TV Peru that animals had already been dead several days, and the tide brought them to the coast. He said that would explain the advanced state of decomposition.
Sea Lions had injured sharps in the body, so everything suggests that they were attacked with sticks that have nails rusted at the tips.
The corpses were removed by personal of the municipality of the Callao. However, Arturo Alfaro, Member of the NGO life, indicated that these should be studied by Imarpe to determine the cause of his death.
It last Friday, the service national forest and of Fauna wild (Serfor), of the Ministry of agriculture and irrigation, made an inspection to them beaches of the province of Talara and confirmed the death of at least 39 wolves marine.
