10 dead sea lions and dolphins found on the coast of Chimbote, Peru

Staff Management Environmental Management and Environment of the Municipality of Chimbote , retired Thursday at noon ten sea lions and a dolphin found dead on the shores of the coast, in the Ancash region, level of urbanization La Caleta.
 
The head of this department, Juan Villareal Olaya, said lifeless animals have wounds in different parts of the body and also have brands of fishing nets.
 
“We assume that something must watch the fishermen, that is the closest hypothesis, we do not believe it for lack of food or poisoning,” he said.
 
However, the official once again invoked the Peruvian Sea Institute (IMARPE) that can conduct studies to determine what are the real causes of death of these animals.
 
The commune decided to lift the bodies to be disposed in the area known as Pampa La Carbonera at the exit of the city of Chimbote, in order to avoid that can become foci infections.
 
After this new finding dead on the beach in Chimbote, Villareal Olaya marine mammals, announced that it will convene a meeting with the competent authorities to be held on Monday 17 October.
 
A few weeks ago, they were also found 19 dead sea lions in this same place, without so far known exactly what causes of their deaths.
