Nearly 1500 Auckland homes went without power on Sunday morning.
The outage impacted residents around Clevedon from 10:50am; Vector confirmed power was restored by 12:45pm.
The cause of the outage was not known, but strong winds in Auckland could have been to blame; they have already blown a tree into Papatoetoe telephone lines on Dennis Rd.
A fire service spokeswoman said they were not aware of the Clevedon outage but that Chorus had been advised about the Papatoetoe tree.
It was not thought the tree had severed communications as it was “just resting on the lines”, she said.
Meanwhile a smaller power outage in Titirangi affected 30 homes.
