Hundreds of dead fish, plus 35 dead turtles found on a beach in Bahia, Brazil

Hundreds of fish were found dead on the morning of Friday (25) in Beach St. Anthony Protection Area, located in the municipality of Belmonte , south of Bahia.
 
According to information from Paolo Botticelli, coordinator of Ong Pat Ecosmar, an entity that discovered the dead animals, the fish were spread over 400 meters of beach.
 
According to Botticelli, in the last two months, the organization recorded 35 sea turtle carcases, including several females of reproductive age. The environmentalist still revealed that on Monday (21), the NGO field team found a carcass of a boto in the same region.
 
Botticelli said he does not know the reason for the death of the animals in the same region of the coast. According to him, the NGO will notify the Institute of Environment and Water Resources (Inema), which is responsible for collecting the material and do the analysis, to know the cause of the deaths.
