Thousands of fish were found dead floating on Sambong river, Batang regency, Central Java, on Friday afternoon.
Thousands of dead fish located in the Sambong river stream or not far from the company Miki Motto Industries Batang it has not known the cause.
Humani Limited Company Miki Motto Industries Batang, Jack Burhan in Batang, said Friday that thousands of dead fish are estimated because the river water condition is relatively hot enough.
“Thousands of dead fish are not due to waste waste from Miki Motto companies, but they died because of relatively hot weather conditions and small industrial waste residues upstream,” he said.
He said his company routinely monitors the level of waste pollution and every month reports the condition of the wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) to the Batang regency government.
“We make sure that the rest of the company’s waste is not dumped into the river, because if thousands of fish die in the river, it is not caused by waste from the company but other factors such as hot weather conditions and other small industrial waste waste,” he said.
Residents Sambong Village, Taufik, said the death of thousands of fish in the river Sambong not only happen now but it also happened the same thing.
In the dry season of the previous year, he said, many fish died in Sambong river because the water condition is quite hot.
“Thousands of dead fish are not just because of the waste waste that is dumped into the river but also because of the weather conditions are quite hot,” he said.
