At least 100 people are missing and an unknown number feared dead after a hydropower dam collapsed in Laos, according to local media.
The accident in the San Sai district of the southeastern province of Attapeu has released five billion cubic metres of water, Laos News Agency reported.
Boats have been brought in to help evacuate people as water levels rise, according to ABC Laos news.
A video posted on the network’s Facebook page shows villagers pausing to watch the fast-flowing water from the side of a river bank.
