TV company Sky today closed a busy call centre after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
Up to 500 workers were sent home after a staff member became infected after returning from holiday in northern Italy.
The worker is self-isolating at home as other workers at the Capital Quarter building in Cardiff were evacuated.
The office has been closed for a deep clean but is due to reopen later this week.
A statement from Sky said: “We can confirm that a Sky colleague in our Cardiff contact centre has been diagnosed with Covid-19 and they are self-isolating at home.
“Protecting our people is – and always will be – our top priority and so we are closing the contact centre today and sending everyone home as a precaution.”
