More than 300 firemen are battling a massive fire that erupted at the parking lot of a building under construction in Kuwait’s Al Sabah health zone, the fire department said on Saturday.
The department reported that 55 of the firefighters suffered from severe exhaustion after they were exposed to the blaze that erupted at 3:15 pm (local time).
A thermal camera employed by the department recorded the temperature at the fire site at around 322 degree Celcius.
Some floors of the building were transformed into makeshift warehouses where materials had been stacked randomly with no consideration for safety rules, it was stated in a statement. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anas Al Saleh arrived at the scene to follow up closely on the incident.
