An unusual event in the region occurred in the Santa Rita, near the neighborhood of Igaras Otacílio Coast. Several fish were found floating over a pond on the property of Mr. Luis Claudio de Souza.
The foreman of the ranch, Valdo Lemos de Andrade, observes that seven years ago takes care of the property and had never found anything like that.
Valdo account that fish began showing up dead on Thursday, 20. He estimates that approximately 5,000 fish have died. “In my opinion, this water can only be poisoned. I do not know if someone threw some poison, or where did this contamination, “he said, arguing that even in some regions of the lagoon appear strange spots.
According to still Valdo, his boss took samples of water and some fish, to make an analysis, aiming to realize where the contamination originated from the pond. “It is an unfortunate fact, I can not believe, we expect the analysis to see what really happened,” lamented the worker.
