WIS is working to learn more about a major power outage in parts of the Midlands.
According to SCE&G, outages are down significantly after heavy power outages in Lexington and Richland Counties.
At its peak Saturday evening around 11:00 p.m an outage map from SCE&G showed more 22,000 outages in Richland County and more than 4,700 in Lexington County. Shortly after midnight, the outages had diminished to 55 in Richland and 6 in Lexington with power constantly being restored.
No word on what caused the temporary outages. We will update this story as we learn more.
