Mass die off of cattle due to drought in Araucania, Chile

The region of Araucania and Los Rios facing one of the worst droughts in 50 years, and the animals are suffering.
 
Water scarcity affects not only agriculture, livestock also.
 
The water shortage affecting southern Chile direct impact on livestock feed. The grass does not grow, and animals are starving.
 
Product of this situation, the Executive decreed during the week situation “Agricultural Emergency” in 32 communes in the region of Araucania and 12 of the Rivers.
 
Last Thursday, the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Furche, and Undersecretary of the portfolio, Claudio Ternicier announced that 13 million pesos will be invested to come to the aid of those affected.
