As if missing the solar eclipse wasn’t enough, heavy rain continued to batter Sioux Falls for most of the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm moving through the area will stay with us until around 10 p.m. tonight.
There are reports of streets already flooding, so drive carefully if you go out.
Sgt. Ryan Flogstad with the Sioux Falls Police Department said they’d received multiple reports of trapped cars and flooded intersections.
Flooded intersections during the storm included 85th and Grange, the westbound lane of 57th Street at Bahnson Avenue, the bike trails at Pasley Park and Diamond Creek, Farm Field Park (located at the northwest corner of 57th St. and Western Ave.) and Spencer Park.
Flogstad said they’d also received reports of stalled cars at 57th and Bahnson, I-29 and Maple, and Maple and North Fourth.
Several area parks and bike trails were also flooded as well, according to a tweet from police.
