Snow storm catches campers off guard in Southern Arizona, USA

Snow Alert

Snow cam e pelting down at campsites on Mount Lemmon Saturday, shocking people in shorts.

“You weren’t quite prepared for this, right?” 9OYS Simone Del Rosario asked a couple of underdressed women.

“No, since I had shorts on up until we pulled in the parking lot, not at all!” one answered.

She also sported sandals…not exactly snow attire.

“I haven’t quite convinced myself it’s going to be cold.”

They were not the only ones caught off guard.

Campers caught in the snow and rain headed home early, and 2-wheel drive vehicles got stuck on roads.

Those who could make the trekk tried to get a quick look up Ski Valley: One last look at winter after Southern Arizona’s warmest winter on record.

The wind also whipped through town but did not leave as much damage.

Just as quickly as the weather had come, the clouds cleared and the sun set on a beautiful Southern Arizona sky.
