Thousands of dead #fish found in the #FossaLavezzola canal in #Berra, #Italy

Fish Kill Alert

To report the situation is a voluntary security guard of fish associated with Fipsas Ferrara, (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities), Alex Beccati, who reports of a channel “almost completely devoid of water, the little present is polluted, inside all the fish died, even the large ones, a sign that the pollution was intense.

There are therefore “thousands of corpses scattered along the bed of the watercourse that, with the exceptional temperatures of this November, begin to emit a terrible smell of rotting, as they rot they will become a den of diseases as usual, and will produce further pollution of the waters by taking oxygen away. No species were spared: Carp, Herbivorous Carp, Catfish, Bremen, Pikeperch, all completely dead.

The report was promptly forwarded to Arpae on 24 November and the results of the analyzes are now expected from it. “The world of sport fishing and environmental associations – explains Alex Beccati – always complains about the same serious gaps in the protection of the territory and waterways of our province. Our waterways, especially the small canals, are treated as open sewers, as if they did not host life, as if they were not used for the irrigation of the fields with which we grow our food, as if to nobody which manages the territory or represents the public administration imported.
