Thousands of dead fish wash up in a marina in Windsor, Canada #Fish #Windsor #Canada

Fish Kill Alert

Thousands of dead fish were stranded east of the city of Windsor on the banks of the Detroit River.

The show was not very attractive this weekend near the Lakeview Park marina. Thousands of gizzard shad found themselves on the shores. According to Jérôme Marty, outgoing president of the Canadian limnology society, the death of these fish is a natural phenomenon that is observed after the snow melts.

The researcher points out that gradual temperature changes are normal, but when they happen too quickly, that’s where the problems arise.

You have reached temperatures of 15 degrees, it is a very rapid change and nature does not have time to adapt .

Fish are the first in the ecosystem to be affected in a case like this.

The Southwest is particularly at risk because the water heats up there first.
