Thousands of fish were found dead in a freshwater lagoon in Santa Rosa de Aguán, department of Colón, local media reported.
According to residents of the area, unknown men have introduced poison to the body of water causing the massive death of fish.
Likewise, the local media, Diario Colón Hn, released impressive images of the large number of lifeless fish floating in the lagoon.
The media also reported that, according to a version of the neighbors, on Friday night they observed about four men introducing the poison to the freshwater reserve, causing the massive death of fish in the area.
So far it is unknown what would be the motivation of individuals to commit this environmental.
A call is made to the authorities of the Environmental Prosecutor’s Office to punish those responsible for this act that destroys the environment in the sector.
